Hi, I’m Sheng Huang

I help impact-driven professionals, leaders, and learners transform their complex thinking into clarity, take inspired action, and achieve remarkable results aligned with their intentions.

This is my story

As a former Google strategist and tech industry veteran, I've navigated the complexities of fast-paced, high-stakes environments across multiple continents. But my journey to becoming an educator and consultant was anything but straightforward.

I moved to the US from Shanghai at age seven, navigating cultural shifts while climbing the "traditional" path to success. It was at UC Berkeley that I was first introduced to mind mapping by a strategist from Bain Consulting. I realized I had stumbled upon a powerful tool to make sense of our messy world.

Then the 2008 Financial Crisis hit. I was on the cusp of graduating and suddenly opportunities closed left and right. My rosy future turned upside down as I got turned away by firms I thought was a shoe-in, getting laid off from my first startup job, and navigating unemployment while constantly under financial pressure of losing my home.

Looking back, I'm grateful to have used these setbacks as fuel for my resilience and the foundation for my unconventional perspective on success. I had already hit rock bottom professionally, so what's there to lose anyways? This adaptability would become a defining trait of my career.

The Inner Compass

Over the last 15 years, I've consulted Fortune 500 companies, joined Google's go-to-market strategy team, and helped build what would become Pokemon Go at Niantic Labs. I ventured into VC in London and closed multi-million dollar deals across Asia and Europe.

Each jump was vastly different from the last, either a new role, new industry, or even new country. Yet internally, I was guided by the desire for more impact and alignment with truly spoke to my heart and diverse interests.

Birth of the Epiphany Mapping Method

The only consistent tool that I continue to reach for have been these humble maps. At this point, I've created thousands of Epiphany Maps for scenarios ranging from tech product design to the deepest self-inquiry. Through this process, I've come to a profound realization:

Everything is a system, and any challenge, no matter how complex, can be broken down into simpler, manageable parts.

I discovered that once we offload our thoughts and ideas on paper, we can draw deeper connections and insights that otherwise would've never surfaced.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, I developed a sprint and progress tracking system inspired by tech project management to build structure into our lives when everything was thrown into chaos.

The result is the Epiphany Mapping Method: a complete intention-to-action alignment framework that not only clarifies your deepest desires, but brings them to reality in the most efficient way possible.
